Success for the first edition of the Trophée de l’Elégance

The first edition of the ‘Trophée de l’Elégance’ has known a successful finale on the Golf Course of le Touessrok. This event will now enable the world-known Ile aux Cerfs Golf Course to be more associated to ladies golfing events

45 participants – both men and women – attended the tournament from 6 to 15 March 2010. By a twist of fate, the ‘Trophée de l’Elégance’ started around the 8th March, celebrated worldwide as International women’s day.

“The Trophée de l’Elégance is the direct result of the partnership that we have had with Tee Off Event for a number of years now. We have already planned a series of local golf events with them for 2010 and will be also present on a series of European ladies golf events to promote Mauritius and our hotels as a golf destination,” says Béatrice Ekstrom, in charge of golf events at Sun Resorts.

The ‘Trophée de l’Elégance’ is an original concept developed by Tee Off Event, specialised in golf events and partner of Sun Resorts. In 2009, the ‘Trophée des Femmes’ was organised in France and enabled a hundred of participants to compete for this trophy. Of these, eight winners came to Mauritius to participate in the ‘Trophée de l’Elégance’.

Other partners of the ‘Trophée de l’Elégance’ are Air Mauritius and Thierry Mugler.
